The past two days we have spent languishing in Leon. Not too shabby a place to languish in. We are in a very nice Hostal right in the heart of Old Town and a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral. We hung out some with Barbara.. The 3 of us and Jack from Hong Kong had dinner together. We were out later than we have been since we've been in Spain. By the time we were through dinner, it was pretty dark and the Cathedral was all lit up and was beautiful. I'm afraid my photos previously posted are pretty bad
Today, we toured the cathedral and once again my photos are pretty dismal. The stained glass windows are breathtaking, but hard to shoot.
I bought a smaller daypack. The doctor advised me to have my big back pack transported because of my foot. I'm bummed about doing that cause my big pack fits so well and feels good on. Oh well, I carried it 200 miles. Sharon is doing the same to protect her leg which isn't healed yet. It's no longer painful, but she doesn't have the strength in it as before. What a pair we are. We have seen a lot of pilgrims limping and walking very slow the past couple days. And, OMG! The blisters..unbelievable!
We have also ran into friends met along the way.... Jonathan from Denmark, Yves from Switzerland, Carla from South Africa and the young man from France ( we have never learned his name) who is doing the Camino in wheel chair.
We leave by bus for Astorga tomorrow to continue our rest & healing. We walk again on Thursday come hell or high water!
Buen Camino
Patty
