Riegos de Ambros to Ponferrada

PHOTOS PUBLISHED PREVIOUSLY

We were up early again to get a head start on the heat that was on it's way.  Our wonderful hostess had our breakfast all ready...strong, hot coffee, orange juice and toast...typical Spanish breakfast.  Then she walked us out and down to the gate and gave each of us a hug and and a heart felt Buen Camino!  I felt as if I were leaving home!

We started down the trail to Molineseca and found pretty much the same as on the way down from Cruz de Ferro...steep, rocky, only not as hot and we had more shade.  Still, it was slow going.  Sharon didn't like it one bit.

We walked into the lovely village of Molineseca mid morning, found a cafe for coffee and sat for awhile resting our feet and legs.  I have Some very fond memories in Molineseca and found the Hostal I stayed in when there 2 years ago with Annie Santiago and Linda and Jeffrey and Pam and Eileen and Anita and Laura and Nancy and Charmaine and Clair and Edna and Lottie and Joe.I thnk I left someone out..we hadn't met Kate and Lon yet.

We continued on our way to Ponferrada...up the road for 3-4k.  We finally turned left onto a dirt road and took the long way into the city.  The worst thing about that walk was the heat.  After wandering around looking and being totally confused, we found our Hostal with the help of a very nice gentleman who took us to the very door of the restaurant and delivered us into the hands of the owner.   He was so nice that after getting us checked in, he bought us each a glass of chilled white wine.

It was so hot, we didn't venture out of our room and until dinner time.   Too hot for sight seeing.

Tomorrow...10 miles to Cacabelos.  Loving these short stages!
