Thunder storm in Sarria

We had 10 miles to cover today, so we left Samos at 7-00 AM.  The 10 miles fairly flew by and we found ourselves in Sarria at noon.  We both felt good and walked strong.  The path was beautiful and peaceful and green.  What joy it is walking in this country.

When I was here a couple years ago and walked this same path, I passed a beautiful, old stone farm house. I stopped to take a photo when this herd of goats came up the path, followed by the old farmer.  Coming up last and making a terrible racket, was this kid goat.  Not only was he very noisy, but curious too.  He made a bee line for Eileen &I as we stood at the fence and very successfully avoided being herded into the yard with the rest of the herd.  The whole farm teemed with life.

Not so to day when I walked by.  It was eerily quiet and empty.  It is still beautifully.... But there's no life.  I walked on with tears in my eyes.

Right now we are having quite the thunder  lightening and rain storm.  See the flash of lightening, hear the thunder and it is pouring rain.  I'm sorry for all those pilgrims still walking.  It's one thing to walk in the rain..quite another to walk in lightening.

Life is good on Camino
