Renfe..Highspeed train...wonderful

Okay..we had to be out of our room at the Hostal by 8:00am.  Don't think I'd be in a hurry to stay there again..not because of the early check out; not because of the lack of amenities...we had a bed and a private bath..what more could we want?  Mostly because of the seemingly unfriendly, unsmiling hospitelera who was mostly unavailable.  I say seemingly unfriendly because maybe she was just having a bad day.  However, first impressions and all that....

Anyway, we left at the required time and set off in search of breakfast.  We found an open "cafeteria" and ordered our usual cafe, croissant and orange juice.  We sat at the counter cause none of the tables had been cleaned.  Funny:(, the guy and the only person working there was outside smoking.  Presently, he came back in and started clearing...just before a woman entered and obviously worked there also.  That's when it got interesting (I really need to get out more).   A very heated discussion took place and soon the woman stormed out, followed shortly afterward by the guy.  Don't know what transpired, but he came back apparently significantly calmer and later the woman returned. Talk about excitement (I really need to get out more).

Barbara joined us for coffee along with a new friend Jack from Norway, living in Hong Kong (30 years).  We visited for an hour or so and then went our separate ways agreeing to meet at the train station for the trip into Leon.  While at the train station we met Lenie from Austria and Sandra from Germany.  Both very young peregrina's taking time off for injuries.  We sat over coffee for several hours engaging in lively conversations and laughter and photos.

The train ride into Leon was wonderful.  The train is fast, quiet and smooth.  America, you don't know what your missing!

Sharon & I took a taxi to our Hostal right in old town Leon and about 5 minutes from the beautiful Cathedral.  We'll tour it tomorrow.  For tonight, we'll meet Barbara & Jack at the cathedral and go to dinner.

Life on the Camino is good!
