Sahagun

Here we are in Sahagun.  I am taxied in while Sharon walked :).  We are staying in an old monastery that is now a Hostal.  The rooms are rather spartan, but quiet and we have our own bathroom.  I went to the doctor and just as I suspected, I have tendonitis.  So, wrap it, take Ibuprofen and no walking for 5 days counting today.  The clinic visit and exam cost me $0.00.

Tomorrow we take the train to Leon for two days and then to Astorga for two days.  Then we walk...to Santiago.  If we walk 8-9 miles a day, we have plenty of time to get there by July 1 and still go to Finisterre by bus for a couple days before flying home July 8.

This Camino in no way resembles the one we planned.  And that's what so frequently happens and there's nothing to do but accept it.  We will walk into Santiago, we will have our Compostela that we earned.  Along the way we will have had amazing experiences...some good, some not so good.  We have met wonderful people like Barbara and Ciaran and so many others.

Tonight we got a Compostela commemorating our having walked half the Camino.

Good Night and Buen Camino
