The biggest challenge of this day was the climb up to Laguna de Castilla where our lodging for the night is. I saw the "ready?" And then "up" written on the pavement and thought "uh oh" this is going to take awhile and it did. Actually, the climb wasn't too bad...it was steep and very rocky, but pretty much all in the shade.
In LaFaba, another popular stopping place, I found this wonderful albergue that had organic freshly squeezed OJ, which you can actually find in just about any bar & cafe, only this had ginger and mint added.
We continued up and up on pretty much the same kind of path that eventually opened up to reveal magnificent vistas and hillsides covered in blooming Scots Broom. Along the way, we encountered the cows.. On the move and we better get out of the way. I followed them into the village and thought the coast was clear when another herd started down the mountain. I just moved over and waited for them to pass..
Later that night, after We had gone to bed... Probably about 10:00, I heard cows bells again, looked out the window and sue enough, those cows were on the move again... right down Center of the village.
See how exciting the life of a peregrina is?
