The walk started out good. The morning sun was bright and the wind was calm. I took off my fleece very early. We had decided to have our bags transported and carried very small day packs. It felt strange, going from carrying 16# backpacks to 3# daypacks. I missed my bigger pack. I hadn't gone 5k before I knew I wouldn't be able to walk to Moratinos,...a very short 9k away. The pain in my foot was just too intense. So in the next village, I got a taxi to our albergue for the day/night. Sharon came in a couple hours later looking pretty windblown as the wind had picked up and was blowing hard. She said she almost got blown over a couple times.
Tomorrow I'll taxi into Sahagun and go to the doctor. Sharon will walk the 9k...good for her. Needless to say, I'm a little anxious about my foot.
My dear Patty, you're trying so hard! I'm proud of you!
