Sharon and I will be on our way down the knees shredding descent into Roncesvalles after crossing the Pyrennees. Hopefully, the weather is good with sunshine and warm temperatures.
But, in our immediate future...our plane touches down in Madrid on Saturday at 10:05 AM. The Madrid Airport is huge..so by the time we actually get to the gate and off the plane it will be closer to 11:00. We will carry on our backpacks, so we don’t have to go through baggage claim. We’re taking the bus to Pamplona and the non-stop bus leaves the airport at 10:45 AM, a 4 hour ride. No way will we make that one. So, our next best shot is the 13:15 (1:15PM) with one stop (can’t remember the name of the town) and is a 6 hour ride.
We have reservations at Hostal Navarra in Pamplona and according to booking.com and the hostel’s website checkin is from 11:00 to 7:00pm. We won’t get there until 7:45-8:00. Email has been sent telling them of our late arrival, but no response. If I can’t find a Vodafone store at the airport for a SIM card for my phone, I won’t be able to call the hostel either.
Oh well, I doubt we will have to sleep in a park . If the reservation isn’t held for us, there will be a bed for us somewhere, I’m sure.
The adventure begins right out the door! GULP!
