A Walking Meditation Across Northern Spain

SANTIAGO

Yes!  We walked into Santiago on July 1, 2014 at 2:00 in the afternoon.  We did it!   We walked 400 miles across Spain.  We walked in blistering heat, torrential rain, wind, fog.  We navigated beyond imaginable steep climbs and equally unimaginable descents that left my knees screaming in objection and my asthmatic lungs begging for relief.  We walked through pain and disheartment.  But, I always knew we would finish.  I knew that because of the joy and beauty and mystery of Spain that we witnessed. I knew that because of the friendships we made, most lasting a matter of a day or evening.  The most remembered is Barbara from Australia and Cearaen from Ireland.  But most of all Carla from South Africa.  She is beautiful, funny, and irreverent.

I am feeling a huge let down.

I am speaking only for myself now....

I am physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.  I have a sense off deep sadness because I know I'll not come back to this beautiful and mysterious country that I have come to love or the Camino that has had such an impact on my life.  And it's okay that I won't be back.  It will be in my heart forever.  It's time to move on to other adventures.

I'm so looking forward to being home.  Buy first, there is Fisterra & Muxia to be explored.

More to follow....
